The vision from Tom McMorran: “We want to transform our library from a quiet book repository into a hub of 21st century self-directed teaching and learning. There has been a lot of chatter in the library media world about transforming libraries from depositories where the rule is that you sit quietly and study on your own to learning ‘commons’ where students work in teams with on-demand support from media specialists. Think of the difference between the contemplative atmosphere of a cloister and the dynamic bustle of an art studio.”
Seed money from ELF will help send one administrator and two teachers to this exciting Boston based conference to explore the underlying concepts of 21st century learning and make this vision a reality.
